Question: When you help support Materials for the Arts, who reaps the benefits?

Answer: Public school students, hospital patients, senior citizens, youth in after-school programs, artists and educators, dancers, actors, performing artists just to name a few of MFTA's 3000+ registrants. Additionally, our environment benefits since your contribution helps redirect materials out of the waste stream and into the hands of those who need them.

We are most proud of the fact that MFTA is the largest provider of arts supplies to the New York City public schools.

Friends of Materials for the Arts (FOMA) sustains a remarkable roster of outreach programs, including a transportation initiative that sends additional vehicles out to pick up more materials, and an expanded reuse education program. FOMA's Sustainability Fund supports eight special initiatives-over the long term-that comprise the core of FOMA's programming.

The reality is that tax dollars alone and short-term private grants will not help MFTA grow, meet increased daily requests and sustain essential programs over time. Your gift can help support the expansion of our educational reuse program or create additional shopping days with convenient evening hours.
